ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Pokemon GO fans had the chance to catch rare Pokemon Friday afternoon.

Pokemon GO Safari Live partnered with Darton State College to welcome students back to the campus for the college's final fall semester.

Chehaw even brought out wildlife that resembled Pokemon characters.

Pokemon GO Safari Live founder Adam Inyang is a big fan of the game.

"It's very important to make sure we're reaching out, letting people know that this is still a community. We still care about each other. There's a lot of nonsense going on all in the news everywhere but we can still come together have fun," said Inyang.

Money raised at the event will go to a medical fund for Brittany Roberson, a friend of Inyang who's facing brain surgery.
