DOUGLAS, GA (WALB) -

According to officials, the Douglas-Coffee Drug Unit joined the Georgia Bureau of Narcotics to investigate a possible improper handling and or theft of controlled substances at a Walmart pharmacy.

The two agencies teamed up on August 4, after a complaint came in from the Walmart pharmacy and Walmart loss prevention associates.

During the investigation, officials discovered that Jennifer Herdner, 38, who was a Walmart Pharmacy Technician from Ambrose, had, on at least 3 occasions, switched prescription pain medications for Acetaminophen.

Herdner was charged with the unlawful distribution of controlled substances.
