ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An international company is helping the Albany-Dougherty EDC support a new educational program at a south Georgia college.

Representatives from AT&T presented a $5,000 check to the EDC.

It plans to use the money to support Albany Technical College's new Industrial Operations program.

"The program helps students learn skills they need to land manufacturing jobs in Albany and Dougherty County," said Dr. Anthony Parker, President of Albany Technical College.

"And anytime we see the type of collaboration and cooperation among industries and economic development professionals and education professionals like we see in Albany, we want to invest in that," said Courtney Brinson of AT&T Georgia.

Parker said this support will also let manufacturers outside our community know that Albany is a good place to do business.
