COFFEE CO., GA (WALB) -

The Coffee County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that a woman tried to have her husband murdered.

According to a report released by the Sheriff's Office, Cindy Youngblood, 49, and Reggie Lockhart, 24, conspired to kill Anthony Youngblood, 51.

Both Cindy and Lockhart have been arrested.

Officials said that the arrests stemmed from an investigation that began on Thursday, August 11 when deputies responded to Harvey Smith Road after they received a call that Anthony had been shot at.

The report states that a woman called 911 and said that Anthony was at her house and said that he had been shot at.

Anthony told police that the man who shot at him had been hiding in a utility building at his residence.

Anthony, who is a former Coffee County Sheriff's deputy, also told officials that he had gone outside after receiving a call from Cindy Youngblood asking him to go outside and look for something she thought had fallen from her vehicle.

Sheriff's investigators linked Cindy Youngblood and Lockhart through a series of communications between the two.

Officials said they also received testimony from other sources that led them to the discovery of the murder conspiracy against Anthony.

Cindy Youngblood and Lockhart both had warrants issued for their arrest on Sunday.

Cindy Youngblood was charged with conspiracy to commit a crime.

Lockhart was charged with aggravated assault and 2nd degree burglary.
