ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An Albany kayak rental shop recently turned two years old and is becoming popular among many South Georgians.

In 2014, Josh Lorber and his wife turned their hobby into a business.

“We’ve always kayaked. We’ve accumulated all of these canoes and kayaks from me being fickle [and] not sure what we wanted to buy and then once day it kind of hit us. We should be renting these kayaks,” Kayak Attack Adventures owner Josh Lorber said.

Their business Kayak Attack Adventures has become a popular attraction.

“I never thought we’d get over 40 [rentals] a week,” Lorber told WALB News 10.

The owner said they’ve had a good mix of locals and tourists.

Kayak Attack Adventures features over 10 different adventures.

There’s relaxing routes for those who like to take it easy.

“There’s sandy beaches and you can just stop and hang out,” he said.

And there’s adventures for those who like to explore.

“There’s a blue hole, a cave to explore, a couple of nice waterfalls,” Lorber added.

The owner said many participants have enjoyed it so much that they keep coming back to rent more kayaks.

“We get a number of return customers, people who have gone 10 times and every other week,” Lorber said.

And they’re not coming alone.

“They bring their friends with them and they rent from me and it’s just like that kind of cycle,” Lorber mentioned.
