ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An Atlanta pilot said Angel Flight needs more pilots to fly medical patients for treatment, and sponsors to keep them flying.
Douglas Ellis, 80, spoke to the Dougherty County Rotary Club Tuesday about the needs of Angel Flight. The organization uses approved volunteer pilots to transport patients in a six state area.
"It's an opportunity for them to fly missions and stay current. Which is something a lot of our pilots need to do," said Ellis.
Ellis said he also wants to get the word out to medical patients and caregivers about their services to medical patients.
