ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A Dougherty County high school received a big check Monday night.
Alumni that attended the Alumni Weekend event donated $10,000 to Albany High School.
Dougherty County School System spokesperson J.D. Sumner said that the money can be used as the school sees fit.
"We're thrilled that they decided to have such a generous spirit about them. And we look forward to seeing how best we can serve the students with that extra cash," said Sumner.
But officials said, in the past, such large donations have been used for programs like re-paving walkways or donating to school social clubs.
