BAINBRIDGE, GA (WALB) -

Students in Decatur County returned back to school Friday.

The elementary, middle, and high school each had open house programs Thursday night.

This is where students and their parents got information about the upcoming school year.

The high school principal says there are two new programs the school will be focusing on this year.

"We have two areas of focus, one is going to be literacy and increasing our students Lexil scores which is the reading levels and also focusing on soft skills for getting our students prepared for the workplace," said Tommie Howell, Bainbridge High School Principal.

Howell also mentioned that he was excited for high school football to start back up.

Starting  August 19th, Jake Wallace and the team will be bringing you sports highlights on Friday nights in the Locker Room Report.
