Three Albany firefighters are recovering after suffering "Minor Injuries"  while they were battling two house fires, Thursday afternoon.

One firefighter was hurt at a house fire in the 300 block of Ingleside Drive about two Thursday afternoon.   Officials say a piece of the ceiling fell on a firefighter, hurting his back.

There was another fire just before four in the 700 block of Mobile Avenue. One firefighter was burned by super-heated steam, while another was hit in the shoulder by falling ceiling.

"You never know what's in the attic. Because people store a lot of things in the attic.  You also don't understand how much water a sheet of sheet rock will hold when it falls. You are not protected everywhere," said Chief Ron Rowe of the Albany Fire Department.

No one was home in either fire.  The three firefighters are taking a few days off for recovery, and are expected back to work next week.
