TIFTON, GA (WALB) - A non-profit organization and a local grocery store in Tifton are teaming up to get kids ready for school.
Publix is partnering with United Way for it's third annual Tools for Schools campaign.
Customers can donate $5, $7 or $10 when they checkout.
The money will buy needed supplies like paper, notebooks and pencils for students at Tift County Schools.
"The teachers sometimes have to buy school supplies for their students. And this is a great way for the community to get involved to help these teachers, to help these students so our students can be excellent in their studies," said United Way Executive Director Pat McKinnon.
Customers have until August 16th to donate to the campaign.
