ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Dougherty Schools incorporate technology in the classroom to boost learning.

DCSS uses smart boards and tablets to track students' growth. And teachers use that feedback to alter lesson plans so students can better understand the material.

First grade teacher Brittini Myles says students are more tech-savvy today, and it's important for teachers to use technology to motivate and engage them.

"I am risk taker. I try whatever is new. And I'm always researching to incorporate into my classroom," said Myles.

And those risks landed Myles the teacher of the year award last year.
