ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Miss Georgia Patricia Ford stopped in Albany on Wednesday to visit Phoebe Putney.

Her platform focuses on the good work of the Children's Miracle Network.

Phoebe is one of six CMN hospitals in the state.

Ford said that touring Phoebe gives her an inside look at how CMN helps children in South Georgia.

"Just being able to educate myself on the different hospitals, the different facilities, and just the different resources that are available here, it really helps me be able to go out into the community and increase awareness, help raise funds, and get people to understand the importance of why they need to donate to this organization," said Ford.

In September Ford will be competing in the Miss America contest.

She speaks Mandarin and has traveled to six different countries and is from Johns Creek, north of Atlanta.
