DOUGLAS, GA (WALB) - A man who had been on the run from the Douglas area was arrested Monday near Atlanta.
Last June, a Coffee County deputy tried to stop Francis Lee Grantham, as he was recklessly driving an ATV on Wood Pecker Trail, just outside Douglas.
Grantham took off running, but he left behind a backpack, and deputies found over a pound of methamphetamine, and his state-issued ID in it.
Authorities went to his house and seized a firearm, ammunition, a small amount of marijuana, digital scales, and drug-packaging materials.
Grantham was already on probation for an unrelated drug violation, and is being held for trafficking methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and several traffic violations.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to call 911, or the Coffee County Sheriff's Office at 912-384-4227.
