MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -

Diving from a platform more than 30 feet in the air can be terrifying and dangerous.

Lifeguards are on duty at all times and coaches watch closely.

This evening one girl was injured at the event but not while diving

She fractured her arm while playing outside the pool.

Coaches said safety is their top priority.

"One of the most common mistakes we see is people not grabbing properly or people splitting their tucks and getting lost in their somersault, and then just listening to their coaches is the biggest thing," said coach Sean Letsinger.

Divers competed on 1-meter and 3-meter springboards and 5, 7 and 10-meter platforms.

The youngest divers at the event are just 7-years-old.
