THOMAS CO., GA (WALB) - Students at Thomas University returned back to campus Tuesday to move into to their new dorms.
Construction on the west campus residence halls started last spring.
Crews put the final touches on the complex last week.
"We're excited because its something new and its really nice so its a privilege to be able to live here" said sophomore Katy Hanscomb.
All of the students in the new housing complex are upper class man, so by now they said they have the moving process down to a science.
"I was slightly more prepared because I left stuff at people's houses so it was a bit easier for me I think," said Hanscomb.
These new dorms are set up like apartments, with four bedrooms and two bathrooms. They even come with a washer and dryer.
The apartment styled housing is was students say is their favorite part, everyone lives together under one roof.
"I really like it here, its like a family honestly. Everyone is friends with eachother, its really good," said sophomore, Dana Blough.
The goal of the new complex is develop student life on the west campus which is one mile from TU's main campus.
"We've been for the past few years having to move them around town in different apartments and houses and now we have them centralized," said Executive Director of Student Life, Mike Lee.
