ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Albany Dougherty Drug Unit says it seized 17 pounds of marijuana in an early morning raid today.
Cortrez Jermoine Jackson, 34, was charged with Trafficking marijuana, Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, DUI less safe, and Open Container.
About 4:00 this morning, Dougherty County Deputies overheard shots being fired at the Bethel Apartments at 507 Swift Street, and saw a 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche driven by Jackson speeding away.
They caught him in the 1300 block of East Broad Avenue and recovered a firearm and shell casings possibly used during the shooting.
Deputies called the Albany-Dougherty Drug Unit, and officers confiscated 17 pounds of marijuana, with a street value of $33,000, and a .38 caliber pistol.
Jackson is in jail.
