ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Dougherty County first responders want the entire community to join them for National Night Out Monday evening.
The Dougherty County School Police, Dougherty County Police, Sheriff's Office, Fire Department, and EMS are among the hosts of the National Night Out.
A number of sponsors and businesses have donated hundreds of book bags of school supplies and prizes for students.
The idea for National Night Out is to give folks in the community the chance to meet in person first responders.
"Especially in this day and time we want to encourage community relationships with the police department," said Dougherty County Police Corporal David McKey.
National Night Out will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday at the Radium Springs Middle School. There will be free food, games for kids, and school supplies.
