ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Deerfield-Windsor will welcome a new lower school director with more than 20 years of experience in education.
Kathy Meskell joined the school July 1st.
She said she will draw from her 23 years of experience teaching at private and public schools and elementary through high school grades.
Meskell said she has goals for the upcoming school year but first, she needs to experience a full school day and start from there.
"Let's watch it, let's see, because clearly it's already a successful school," said Meskell. "There's nothing here that needs to be fixed. But we can look at it and then we can always tweak things. But for me to be able to do that, I need to meet with my parents, meet with my teachers and watch the school."
The Lower School students' first day back is August 11.
