ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Dougherty County Commission will re-visit their decision to cut $50,000 from the Albany Dougherty Economic Development Commission budget.
Thursday the E-D-C members voted to give the County 30-days to reconsider.
The city and county are contracted to provide $250,000 a year to equally fund the E-D-C.
Mayor Dorothy Hubbard and County Commission Chair Chris Cohilas asked the board to wait to set their budget. "You don't ever know what will happen" said Cohilas. "Obviously we have to consider our positions as a whole. In light of the contractual agreements that we have, and I would hope that we could have some positive discussion in that regard."
Mayor Hubbard told the board the city and county have always funded the E-D-C equally, and further talks about the obligation are needed.
