ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Albany Chamber of Commerce honored some of the brightest young leaders in South Georgia.
The chamber held its annual "40 under 40" luncheon Thursday.
Our Melissa Hodges is one of the 40 people honored.
Chamber leaders said it's important to recognize young leaders in the community, and winners said they're grateful for the honor.
"They're the ones that are going to take care of us down the road. They are our future, the future of our city and our county," said Ed Newsome with the Albany Chamber of Commerce.
"This community is very important to myself to my family. We've chosen to make this our home so to receive this kind of recognition is an extreme honor for me," said 40 Under 40 recipient Adam Hutchins.
Another WALB employee, Liz Knight, was also honored.
Congratulations to all the winners.
