ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

City commissioners listened to complaints from towing companies and changed their initial vote on a new wrecker service ordinance.

On Tuesday night they approved a two-tier system that will allow both small and large towing wrecker companies to remain on the city's list to be dispatched to wrecks.

Owners of four small companies were pleased with the decision.

"I'm just glad that everything worked out the way it worked out. And I thought that everything was very fair so I want to thank everyone that supported all of the small businesses," said Gregory Harris with Harris Towing Company.

Initially, the policy would have removed operators that didn't have equipment to handle big trucks and tough tows.
