AMERICUS, GA (WALB) -

Just a day after we told you the gym at the Americus boys and girls club was unusable, members of the club participated in a free basketball camp.

Former Darton head coach Lea Henry and her team put on the camp at Sara Cobb Elementary. For campers, it's about more than just learning new basketball skills.

“It's just an opportunity to get the kids having fun, learning more about the game of basketball, but mainly what we're trying to do is really emphasize value of education, overcoming obstacles, believing in themselves,” said Henry.

If you missed Tuesday, the camp goes on Wednesday and Thursday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
