Authorities raid Clinch Co. store

CLINCH CO., GA (WALB) -

At least one person was taken into custody this afternoon, as part of an ongoing investigation for illegal gambling and tax evasion in a Clinch County convenience store.

Jignasha Brijesh Patel, is in custody. He is an employee of the store. 

The store is roped off, and multiple law enforcement vehicles are in the parking lot.

Richard Perryman III, the Alapaha Judicial Circuit District Attorney, brought the charge against Patel.

Patel operates the Quick Stop Store, on Valdosta Highway, in DuPont.

Court documents show that Patel is accused of paying cash out to winners of electronic gambling machines inside the store.
