A full field of golfers braved the heat Monday afternoon to help Georgia children recover from burns.
The Albany Fire Department hosted their first ever charity golf tournament at Stonebridge Country Club.
20-teams teed off.
The money raised will benefit the Georgia Burn Foundation and the Albany Fire Department's fire prevention program.
Albany Fire Department Chief Ron Rowe said "We've had a tremendous amount of support from the community. Tremendous amount of participation. A lot of firefighters that are off duty. Of course a lot of the citizens locally are playing."
Albany Fire officials aren't sure yet how much money the tournament raised, but they plan to continue the event in the future.
