AMERICUS, GA (WALB) -
Georgia Southwestern is tied for most golfers named to a recent Division II All-America scholar list.
Hayes Dupree, Fraser Johnston, Nicholas Ward and Anders Olsson were named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
The 4 GSW golfers had an average stroke under 79 and a minimum GPA above 3.2 along with other requirements.
Olsson credits two things to the team's achievement: The guidance of coach Darcy Donaldson, and the fact that all 4 teammates were also dorm mates.
"Having basically the same schedule was great," said Olsson. "We did a lot of things together, we went to practice together and did homework at the same time together so almost every night we had time we dedicated to sitting down doing homework, helping each other out if we needed to."
It was the second time making this list for both Olsson and Dupree.
