ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

NBC 41 WMGT in Macon is mourning the loss of an up and coming news anchor, who lost her life the day before her birthday.

Taylor Terrell died Thursday night in an accident, according to family members who spoke with her employer. News Director Brandon Long tells WALB that there's a lot they don't know today, but the station is devastated by the tragedy.

Several North Carolina news outlets are reporting that a young woman described as a news anchor slipped and fell from a water fall near Sapphire, NC Thursday, and said that personnel at the WMGT station identified the woman as Terrell.

Terrell, who grew up in Conyers had risen through the ranks at WMGT,  beginning as an intern in 2013.  She anchored 41NBC News at Daybreak and 41Today.

She would have turned 25 years old today.

The station hasn't been told of funeral arrangements at the time of this article.
