MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -

Churches in Moultrie are coming together to show law enforcement officers the community has their backs.

Friendship Missionary Baptist Church will host a prayer vigil service to focus on peace and unity in Colquitt county.

Officers and deputies from the Moultrie Police Department and the Colquitt county Sheriff's office will be there.

Pastor Alfred Jones said he's trying to prevent friction between police and the community.

"They're the ones that protect us and we certainly want to be on one accord," said Pastor Jones. "And we're trying to do things that are going to cause a positive effect on our community."

The prayer vigil starts at 6 tomorrow night.

Friendship Missionary Baptist Church is located at 421 6th Avenue NW Moultrie, Georgia 31768.
