ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany non-profit groups give back one cleat at a time.
South Georgia Pop Warner football teams and C.H.A.N.C.E. and Aftermath Riders are collecting cleats.
They'll give them to youth who want to play football or soccer this school year but may not be able to afford the proper shoes.
"Great reaction because so many parents have so many cleats left over that their kids can't wear anymore. And they're saying wow you know I have a fine way of do something with them without throwing them away. This a perfect opportunity and not feel as thought I've wasted my money when I bought those cleats," said Marcus Hines of C.H.A.N.C.E and Aftermath Riders.
They've collected more than 100 pairs of cleats so far. They'll give them away July 30th at the Albany Mall.
Residents can drop off cleats at the Warrior training facility located at 807 21st Ave Albany Ga 31721 on Monday and Tuesday next week.
