ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany Tech saw an increase in nursing students.

The healthcare technology division held its summer capping and pinning ceremony tonight, honoring nearly 60 students.

The keynote speaker was ATC's Former Paramedic Technology Program, Charles Proctor, who now owns a successful ambulance service.

"To be the guy that built it from nothing and then brought it up from where it is. Then to have this advantage of hiring superior training paramedics and EMT's. And then getting to come and address them at their graduation is just, it's just awesome," said Proctor.

Healthcare technology is Albany Tech's largest division.

School officials said graduates typically find jobs within 60-miles of Albany.
