MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) - Around 50 volunteers gathered this morning for Moultrie's first Community Cleanup Day.
One of the main focuses included picking up trash along the city's walking trail.
Moultrie's Chamber of Commerce Interim President, Tommie Beth Willis, says the trail is used a lot and could become busier when the city hosts the AT&T USA National Dive Championship.
"It is a high-traffic area, so we just want to make sure that it's good and pretty for our visitors," Willis said.
Area organizations also spruced up the trail, including the Boys & Girls Club of Moultrie and Colquitt County.
"These [boys and girls] don't understand it all the time, but it's the generous giving and involvement from the community that makes things possible for them…so to learn a little bit about giving back, I think it's extremely important," T.J. Andrews, Program Coordinator for the Boys and Girls Club of Moultrie, said.
