MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -
Folks in Colquitt county are rolling up their sleeves to clean up their community.
Tuesday kicks off the city's first Community Cleanup Day.
The Chamber of Commerce, along with the city of Moultrie, and Colquitt county are hosting the event.
Volunteers will pick up trash along the roads and on the walking trail.
Chamber of Commerce Interim President Tommie Beth Willis said the upcoming AT&T USA National Dive Championship, which will bring thousands of visitors to town, inspired them to tidy up.
"We're going to have a ton of visitors," said Willis. "2,500 plus visitors will be coming to our community over that two week period. We have a great community, but we just want to give it a fresh face lift for the visitors that are going to be coming."
The cleanup runs from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday.
There will be another cleanup day this Saturday.
To find out how you can sign up to volunteer, call the Chamber at 229-985-2131.
