CRISP CO., GA (WALB) -

A Crisp County inmate attacked and knocked out a jailer.

The Sheriff said that video shows Quincy Collins attacking Deputy Jay Young with the foot rest of a wheelchair.

Investigators said Collins faked a seizure early last week and then attacked deputy young when he went for an evaluation.

They know this is a possibility any time they deal with inmates one on one.

"This can happen at any time. Remember, these are inmates and they're in here for a reason. We take every precaution that we can but sometimes things like this happen. That officer did everything right," said Lt. Teresa Miller with the Crisp County Sheriff's Office.

Collins was in jail for a probation violation.

He's charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer and was given a $7,500 bond.
