LAKE PARK, GA (WALB) - The Lowndes County Sheriff says that deputies, fire and emergency medical services were called to a Teresa Drive address in Lake Park Monday morning around 7:00, when a man was found unresponsive in the lake.
He was pulled to the shore, but could not be revived.
Detectives are continuing to conduct interviews and process evidence found at the scene. The sheriff says that exact cause of death has not been determined, although alcohol may be a factor. An autopsy will be performed by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
"We are continuing with this investigation and the autopsy will shed some light on the exact cause of death. If anyone has information about this incident I would encourage them to contact our detective office," said Sheriff Chris Prine.
The identity of the deceased is not being released pending the notification of the next-of-kin.
