ALBANY, GA (WALB) - It's always tough to follow up a record-breaking performance, and out at the Grand Island golf course that's exactly what Christian Brand had to do to go home victorious finishing 27-under.
Saturday morning Brand shot a 67 (-5), tied for his worst round this weekend, but strong enough to secure him a 7-shot victory--his first of the Swing Thought Tour season. This was Brand's third straight event flirting with the a win, and he credited his aggressive approach for finally getting over the top.
"I think it gives me a lot of momentum," said Brand. "I've had a good past three tournaments and finally got it done this week so I'm looking forward to continuing this run."
The deciding day for Brand was day 3 when he set a course record shooting a 61 (-11), and creating a 5-shot lead heading into the final round.
