ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
45 athletes competed in the 2016 YMCA Superkidz triathlon.
There were 3 age divisions, and no shortage of energy at the YMCA sports park on Gillionville road.
Kids from 4 to 14 started the race with a swim race... transitioned to a the bikes, and capped off the competition with a run to the finish line.
Kids were awarded for their top finishes in this YMCA summer tradition, but like most YMCA events it more kids getting active and having fun.
"They had a fantastic time without technology," said YMCA health and fitness director Donnette Kline. "Doing what kids have done for thousands of years. Swimming, biking running and just having a good time being kids."
There was a week long training camp for kids leading up to this mornings event. The YMCA plans to keep the Superkidz tradition strong next summer.
