Sylvester native named as Commander of First Air Force

SYLVESTER, GA (WALB) - A Sylvester native is now the Commander of the First Air Force.

Lt. General Scott Williams was named to the top leadership of the Continental U.S. Aerospace Defense Region, at Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida.

Williams most recently served at the U.S. Embassy in Kuwait as the Chief of the Office of Military Cooperation.

Williams is a command pilot with almost 4,000 flying hours, including 300 combat hours.
