ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Crews are still on the scene of a house fire in the 300 block of Williams Street.

No injuries were reported.

The call came in around 9:20 p.m. on Thursday.

Upon arrival, Albany Fire Department found the north-side of the house engulfed in flames.

Officials said the flames were so intense that they immediately went into defense attack mode due to the close proximity of power lines near the entrance of the house.

It took about 20 minutes to get the fire under control.

The family left the home around 8 p.m.

Officials said the fire originated on an outlet located on the wall. They said an unspecified electrical short caused the fire.

Crews said the insurance company will determine if the home is salvageable.

The Red Cross was notified to secure temporary housing for the family.

Crews expect to be on the scene for several hours until all hotspots are extinguished.
