Law enforcement agencies hold blood drive in Cairo

GRADY CO., GA (WALB) -

Two South Georgia law enforcement agencies joined together for a good cause.

The Cairo Police Department and the Grady County Sheriff's Office hosted their first annual "Badges for Life" blood drive.

They wanted to give public servants in Grady County a chance to give back to the community.

"We serve the public everyday. We try to save lives we come out and do our jobs and this is one way of giving back. This is one way of giving back to the community, we're trying to help," said Police Chief Keith Sandefur.

The Cairo Police Chief and Grady County Sheriff donated blood together early Thursday morning.
