MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -

Two Moultrie police officers are being praised on social media after they went out of their way to diffuse a heated argument.

Corporal Fernando Hernandez and Lieutenant Alfred Anderson responded to a reported domestic dispute outside of an Oxley's Thursday afternoon. 

They discovered the couple was arguing over a couple of food items the man said his wife refused to buy.

The officers calmed the couple down and Corporal Hernandez decided to buy the food himself.

"He told us he wanted some hotdogs, a juice, and pork and beans. So I took it upon myself. I took him to Oxley's and purchased the items for him," said Hernandez.
