Serial burglar charged in south Ga. counties pleads guilty

DOUGHERTY CO., GA (WALB) - A serial burglar, wanted in several south Georgia counties, plead guilty to burglary and theft by taking charges on Thursday.

44-year-old Jason Semrau was sentenced to 8 years in prison, as part of a 20 year total sentence.

Prosecutors said that Semrau broke into a Dougherty County home in 2014.

He was indicted on 11 charges of burglary and theft in Dougherty County, and has been charged for burglaries in Turner, Worth and Bibb counties.

Semrau was finally captured in Colorado in September 2014.
