VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Officer Randall Hancock, who was ambushed and shot during a call on July 8, was released from the hospital Thursday.

“The Valdosta Police Department would like to thank every organization, business and citizen who has given their prayers, support and well wishes to Officer Hancock, his family, and the members of the Valdosta Police Department, as well as every other member of the law enforcement community. I believe that all of the prayers and support have helped Officer Hancock with his recovery, as well as the countless officers who arrived on scene to assist their fellow officer that tragic day”, said Captain Kari Williams.

The suspect, Stephen Beck was transported back to South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta on Tuesday.
