COLQUITT CO., GA (WALB) - Every move an on-duty Colquitt County deputy makes will soon be recorded on new body cameras.
Sheriff Al Whittington has recently purchased 40 new body cameras for deputies on patrol, for the drug division and for investigators.
The Sheriff's Office has dash cameras in their patrol cars, but Sheriff Whittington believes the body worn cameras will help better explain what truly transpired during an incident.
"There's three sides to every story. There's your side, there's my side, and there's the truth," said Sheriff Whittington. "And a lot of times it's non-intentional, but people see things differently. It's human nature."
Sheriff Whittington hopes to have the new equipment by the end of the month.
