ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Young athletes can get their feet wet in a triathlon just for them.
The Albany YMCA will host a triathlon for kids from ages four to 14 this weekend.
There will be competitions in three age groups.
The race, which includes swimming, biking and running, kicks off at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday at the YMCA Sports Park on Gillionville Road.
The YMCA Health and Wellness Director Donnette Kline Lewis said that they just want kids to get out and exercise.
"This is a cross training so it teaches them three different kinds of fitness," said said Lewis. "They learn those skills and they learn that it's not just about winning, but it's about completing."
The YMCA offered a camp this week for kids to practice for the big day, but children are welcome to sign up on race day even if they weren't part of the camp.
