New BOE millage rate could affect property taxes

DOUGHERTY CO., GA (WALB) -

The Dougherty County Board of Education announced Monday they have tentatively adopted a millage rate that will require a 0.14 percent increase in property taxes.

The board invited concerned citizens to public hearings on the increase.

The hearings will be Thursday, July 12 at 11:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. and also on July 21 at 6:15 p.m.

All hearings will be held at the Dougherty County School Administration Building at 200 Pine Ave., Albany.
