ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Albany Area YMCA is looking for children to join its Pre-K program for the upcoming school year.

Registration is open for the program that includes math, reading preparation, sports and field trips.

The Y's Pre-K Director said that she's often shocked by how quickly the kids learn.

"I do have a little boy that I had in my room this past year. He was three years old and he could read. And I would actually ask him to read to the class," said YMCA Pre-K Director Betty Pickren.

Parents have until August 2nd to enroll their kids.

For details on registering children for the program visit the YMCA website Pre-K program page.
