Elderly man survives brutal beating

COLQUITT CO., GA (WALB) -

A 70-year old man is recovering after police said he was brutally beaten in front of a Moultrie package store. 

Police said Steven Larion, 38, admitted to beating the man outside Tommy's Package Store July 4th. 

Investigator David Jones said Larion did not give an explanation as to why he attacked the victim. 

"He got a broken nose, he suffered lacerations to the back of the head that required medical attention, and also to his lip. Basically all around his face," said Jones.

Larion is being held in the Colquit County Jail on charges of aggravated battery and exploitation of an elderly person.
