ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The roads will be filled with travelers Monday night, and it's important that everyone stays safe.

There have been seven fatalities on the roads in the state of Georgia so far this weekend.

The Georgia State Patrol does not want that number to grow, and they are working on the roads trying to make sure everyone makes it home safely.

"It's important that every driver be extra cautious. Each driver not just one driver but every driver needs to be cautious. The life you save may be your own," said Corporal Andrew McKenzie with the Georgia State Patrol.

Troopers said that they will be looking for people who are speeding, distracted at the wheel and aggressive drivers.

Although it's legal to talk on your cell phone while driving in Georgia, the GSP recommends that everyone use hands-free devices.
