PLAINS, GA (WALB) - Fireworks lit up the sky as the city celebrated our country's independence a few days early. The day-long event included live music, a street dance, games and activities for the whole family.
Sam's Shortline ran trips from Lake Blackshear to Plains for the day. The event organizer said the crowd was exactly what they wanted.
"It's just kind of a family oriented thing and that's what we wanted it to be," said Ruth Sanders, the executive director of the Plains Better Hometown organization.
