Three qualify for Berrien Co. Sheriff's seat

BERRIEN CO., GA (WALB) - There is new information on the Berrien County sheriff's seat after the former sheriff entered a guilty plea in a federal investigation.

WALB has learned that the interim sheriff, Ray Paulk, qualified on Thursday to run as an independent in November. Frank Swanson and Rick Brown have also qualified in the race.

On Wednesday, Anthony Heath was removed from office after pleading guilty to violating the civil rights of two suspects by using excessive force.
