LEESBURG, GA (WALB) - Lee County Commissioners tonight approved a new budget that cuts spending.
The budget decreased by a half percent to $23.5 million, but Commission Chairman Rick Muggridge says services will not be cut.
The budget also included money for a new full-time building inspector that commissioners say will help Lee County grow.
"The good news is our building continues to grow in Lee County. Residential seems like there's a small uptick as well as commercial so we think there is definitely a need for some additional help in the building inspection department," said Commission Chairman Rick Muggridge.
Muggridge said county leaders worked hard to make sure there would be no tax increase.
